Early Literacy Play Area
An Invitation to Play!
Made possible by the generous support of the Wadsworth Public Library Foundation, our interactive play area features a “bookmobile,” multifunctional play kiosks, a towering alphabet whirligig, a STEM-focused magnetic ball run, and many other opportunities for you to discover and learn with your child.
Designed to encourage cooperative play between children and caregivers alike, our play area has a variety of interactive panels. From color mixing and texture panels to spinning stories and dancing frogs, there is something for everyone! Infused with the five pillars of early literacy: talk, sing, read, write, and play, the learning experiences are endless. Visit often, the play area changes quarterly to a variety of themes, including Library, Cafe, Post Office, and Farm!
You’ll also find some locally inspired surprises throughout the new area, and don’t forget to look up - our Wright Brothers model airplane is proudly featured in the space. Let’s see who has more fun making the headlights shine on the bookmobile - you or your little one!
This project would not have been possible without the generous support of the Wadsworth Public Library Foundation.
