Build and decorate your own gingerbread house for a chance to win!

WPL is excited to host an in-person battle of sweet creations. It's a delicious competition for fun prizes. 

Rules and Guidelines

  1. The gingerbread house must be no taller than four feet, and mounted on a hard, disposable, unbendable surface no larger than 18"x18". 
  2. You may decorate your gingerbread house any way you like as long as it is appropriate for viewing by all ages and free of profanity or otherwise inappropriate content. Wadsworth Public Library reserves the right to decide what constitutes inappropriate content.
  3. One entry per participant or team. 
  4. Include a label/sign that explains the inspiration for your creation to help judges make their determinations. 
  5. Completed gingerbread houses must be delivered to the Library on Wednesday, December 18 between 3pm and 9pm. The public will be able to view the judged entries on Thursday, December 19 between 10am and 7pm. 
  6. Judging is based on creative and difficulty of construction. 
  7. Group projects must be placed in the category of the oldest participant. Please note that a team will compete for a single prize.
  8. Entries must be taken home the evening of December 19 between 7pm and 8:30pm. 
  9. Wadsworth Public Library employees and their immediate family are able to enter but not eligible to win.
  10. WPL is not responsible for deterioration of, or damage to the structure.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each category as well as one People's Choice winner. 

How to Enter

Gingerbread house entries will be accepted at WPL on December 18 from 3pm to 9pm. Participants must complete an entry form when delivering their creation to the Library.
