Minimalists vs. Maximalists - Literature in the Modern Era

Literature has transcended time and place to tell stories, convey emotions, and simply entertain—to give readers insight into what it is like to be a human being. Literature has evolved from the pretentious notion to write the Great American Novel. Writers, like painters and musicians, will find new and engaging ways to showcase their craft, and sometimes this means changing up the format.

This fall, we will explore how writers have taken a story and presented it outside of the style of the traditional novel. This series is meant to be an engaging, open discussion and not a lecture, so please bring your views and share. These topics are open to all ages.
