The Wadsworth Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a candidate to fill an open position on the board. The new trustee will be appointed to serve a 7-year term beginning January 1, 2021, and ending December 31, 2027. Prospective candidates must demonstrate the capacity to envision what library service means to the community; have the initiative and ability to establish library policy; and express a commitment to intellectual freedom. The Library Board oversees the hiring and evaluation of the Library Director and the Fiscal Officer; approves the Library’s budget and plan of service.

Board members serve on a voluntary basis. Meetings are scheduled on the third Monday of each month, with committee meetings scheduled throughout the year.

About The Board Of Trustees

The Library is governed by a 7-member, volunteer Board of Trustees, appointed by the Wadsworth City School District Board of Education. Trustees are appointed to a 7-year term. The Board is entrusted with authorizing the policies, budgets and plans that govern the efficient delivery of quality public library service in the Wadsworth community.

The Board of Trustees meets on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Library’s meeting room. Alternate meeting dates and locations are posted on the Library’s public bulletin board. All meetings of the Board and its committees are open to the public, excluding executive sessions for purposes approved by law.
