Winter 2022 Community Message

Posted on 11/16/22 by Daniel in Quarterly Program Guide

Dear Neighbors:

We hope this year’s winter program guide finds you well as you prepare for the holiday season. Our team has planned another wide-ranging mix of programs for the cold months ahead, for patrons of all ages and walks of life.

At Wadsworth Public Library, we place a particular emphasis on ensuring that our community’s youngest citizens have ample opportunities to cultivate a lifelong love of reading. We encourage new parents to check out our weekly story time programs. No reservations are required and it’s never too early nor too late to begin. Story time is a great place to meet other parents as you and your child celebrate the magic of the written word. Reading early and often to your child is a powerful practice that will pay dividends academically and in life. Children who read succeed.

Wadsworth Public Library has been an increasingly busy place full of readers, seekers, thinkers, explorers and creators this year, with an average of over 10,000 visitors each month. Between January and September, 26,732 individuals of all ages attended our programs, experiencing live music, building Lego masterpieces, sharing hundreds of stories, or exploring their ancestry, to name a few of the paths available at Wadsworth Public Library. Our staff are here to help you find a trailhead as you embark on your next adventure, whether literally out into the world or into the depths of the imagination, thought and human experience.

As we continue to climb back toward pre-COVID usage levels, we recognize that a well-used facility such as ours requires ongoing investments and refurbishment to maintain the quality and functionality our community deserves. This November 14, crews will begin long-awaited work to improve the layout of our first floor. This work is expected to draw to a close by January of 2023. We apologize for the unavoidable disruption during this time. You can learn more about these changes by visiting www.wadsworthlibary.com/interior-improvements

If you are new to the community, we invite you to come and register for your WPL library card and begin enjoying all of the benefits we have to offer as your local, independent public library.
We hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Daniel Slife
