Spring 2022 Community Letter

Posted on 03/14/22 by Daniel in Quarterly Program Guide

Dear Residents,

It is my pleasure to introduce another action-packed season of programming at Wadsworth Public Library. We have been encouraged by the steady return of established patrons as well as many new patrons visiting us for the first time. Total visits to the Library in 2021 reached 95,848, up 33% from 2022. This spring we are bringing back more of our popular programs and introducing experiences for the whole family (See page 8).

Back in the fall of 2021, we shared news of forthcoming enhancements to our furnishings, shelving and services that we’re currently under exploration. While our vendors continue to be deal with supply chain and labor shortages, we are inching closer to implementation. Enhancements to our early literacy play area are expected this spring. Stay tuned to our website (, e-newsletter, or follow-us on social media for details. The Wadsworth Public Library Foundation, whose generous funding is making these enhancements possible, will be hosting an open house reception to unveil the new additions to the play area this spring. The date for this event is forthcoming.

We continue to work through the planning process for improvements to our service desks and shelving on the first floor of the Library. These changes will also include an increase in the total number of public access computers as well as a more intuitive arrangement of our first floor service desks. Updates on these changes will also be posted at the link referenced above.

Lastly, we will be migrating to a new library catalog system in 2022. This change will involve an unavoidable interruption of patron access to SearchOhio and OhioLINK. The new system will feature significant improvements to way you search for materials and manage your library account, as well as efficiency and functionality improvements for Library staff. Please stay tuned for real time updates about this process by subscribing to our e-newsletter at You’ll find the subscribe option in the blue bar beneath the upcoming events listing.
As we continue to rebuild and adapt in this later phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, we thank you for continued cooperation, patience and support. We look with hope toward a different kind of year ahead, with new and different challenges, and new possibilities for improving our service to you.
