Technology has become an increasing part of the library landscape in recent times, and the Wadsworth Public Library is always looking for ways to improve our technology offerings. Caesar Carrino
Wednesday, September 22, 6 pm

Local author and historian Caesar Carrino will talk about his new book, Legendary Folk of Wadsworth, Ohio. Books will be available for purchase and signature.

Have a quick question? Text us! The Library's Reference Desk can now accept brief questions sent to us from your mobile phone. Our text address is wplreftext@gmail.com.

What kinds of questions can I ask via texting?
Simple, quick questions of 160 characters in length that can be answered in 160 characters. If your question requires a more detailed reply, please use Live Chat or call us at 330-335-1294.

While there is no charge from the Library for text messaging, you may see a charge for incoming text messages at the standard rate applied by your cell phone carrier, depending on your plan or package.

Computer Class for Experienced Users – OpenOffice Impress
Thursday, September 30, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Wednesday, October 27, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Saturday, November 13, 12:30 – 2:30 pm

This class is for experienced users interested in learning how to create & edit presentations using a PowerPoint-style program called OpenOffice Impress. It will last 1½ hours with a 30-minute learning lab at the end. *Registration is required. Call (330) 335-1294 to register.

NOTE: There will be a open computer labs throughout the summer for those registered in the computer classes. Practice, review, or ask questions about any of the classes you attended. Registration is not necessary for these learning labs. Dates and times are below.

Job search resources @ the Library
If you've recently joined the ranks of the unemployed, the Wadsworth Library can be a great place to begin your search for a new job. In addition to the many books on writing resumes, preparing for interviews, and studying for civil service exams, we also provide free Internet access, plus Microsoft Word templates for resume preparation.

In addition, we've created Internet links to information about applying for unemployment benefits, plus links to area newspapers' classified ads and a variety of local and Ohio employment resources. Click here to visit our Employment Search page.

While the LIbrary's newsletter will no longer be printed and mailed to area households, it will still be available in digital form on our webpage. So that you won't miss a single issue, we invite you to subscribe to our e-mail notification system that will generate a notice each time a new issue is posted. Help us cut expenses...
Please consider providing your email address or cell phone number (for text messages) to receive the library account notices we typically distribute via snail mail.  The notices we send are:
  • Weekly account update
  • Items due soon
  • Items now overdue
  • Items billed because of loss or damage
  • Requests ready for pick up
  • Requests canceled

Bring us your used ink cartridges!
Looking for a great way to recycle & do a bit of good for the Library? Bring us your empty ink cartridges! We can accept any HP, Dell, or Lexmark cartridges, whether from your home or business printers. Look for the green recycle box near the public computers on the first floor.
