The Children’s Department provides materials for our smallest customers, from birth to age 12. Our collection includes:

  • Books
  • Magazines
  • Recorded books (CDs and audiocassette)
  • Educational & entertaining CD-ROMs
  • Music (CDs and audiocassette)
  • DVDs and Non-Fiction VHS

Special collections include our Parent-Teacher collection of professional materials, the LAB Kit collection of hands-on, thematic activities, Big Books, Board Books, and the LeapFrog School House collection of books, cartridges, and LeapPads.

 

Children’s Department Services include:

  • Summer Reading Programs
  • After-School Activities
  • Teacher Loans
  • Reference & Readers’ Advisory

 

Storytimes are available for children ages 1-5, and are offered both during the day and in the evening. The Summer Reading Program encourages students to continue reading during the summer by providing incentives and special programming organized around a specific theme.
