Adult Summer Reading Book Reviews

Girl, Wash Your Face

by Rachel Hollis

A book review by patron, Catherine Chudakoff.

This book is real and genuine. The author touched on topics any woman could relate to in some capacity. She shares lies she has told herself over the years and how she over those lies. I appreciate the rawness of the book. Topics were not sugar-coated and she shared her own real-life experiences - experiences full of joy as well as those full of heartache and frustration. This book has made me think of the goals I have in my own life as well as navigating challenging times. I would recommend this book to all women! It's motivating, empowering, and relatable.

Ghosted

by Rosie Walsh

A book review by patron, Aimee Shaffer.

This may not be "classic" fiction, but, I loved this novel. I couldn't put it down and when I had to I couldn't wait to pick it back up. The ending stunned me and her prose is beautiful. Each character's voice was very well developed and drew me in completely. This was the perfect book to start the Summer.

A Simple Favor

Disappointed in the ending. The plot was somewhat predictable. The character development was not great. However, it was a slightly entertaining "beginning of the Summer escape" read.
