July 12 - pardon our dust!

Main entrance closure

Beginning on Monday, July 17, the main entrance will be closed for approximately 30 to 45 days while work begins to buildout flooring and useable space above the entryway.

Alternative entry via temporary ramp

While the main entrance is closed, the public will have full access to the Library via a temporary, handicap accessible ramp which will run along the southwest corner of the building, entering the building near the flagpole.

Meeting rooms accessible during meetings and programs

During scheduled meetings and programs, Library meeting rooms will remain accessible to the public. Access will be afforded via the southwest emergency exit door, which opens to the West parking lot.

First floor restrooms temporarily relocated

While the main entrance is closed, public access to restrooms will be rerouted to the northwest corner of the building, near the administrative offices.

Signage will be posted to help patrons with all of the above changes

In line with our strategic priority to secure early literacy and cultivate lifelong readers in Wadsworth, we are embarking upon some exciting changes in our children's area on the second floor of the Library.

Construction is currently underway with Sander Contracting of Akron, Ohio. Wadsworth Public Library is working with Ruhlin Company of Sharon Center as an owner's agent to oversee the work.

The project involves three major elements:

  1. Extending the floor of the children's area over the vestibule

  2. Relocating books, materials, the service desk and study desks

  3. Installing an interactive play area geared to the development of early literacy skills
