Children's Area Upgrade

In line with our strategic priority to secure early literacy and cultivate lifelong readers in Wadsworth, we are embarking upon some exciting changes in our children's area on the second floor of the Library.

We are currently in the process of developing bid documentation with CBLH Architects of Cleveland and Ruhlin Company of Sharon Center for modifications that will increase floor space for interactive learning and family engagement within the Library.

The project will involve three major elements:

  1. Extending the floor of the children's area over the vestibule

  2. Relocating books, materials, the service desk and study desks

  3. Installing an interactive play area geared to the development of early literacy skills

Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2017 and will take approximately 2 to 3 months from ground-breaking to completion. A temporary rerouting of main entrance traffic is anticipated at some point during the phase when a floor is added in the current vestibule area.
