Music and Movement
in Meeting Room A
On the afternoon of Friday, November 10 the construction barriers will be removed and the front entryway reopened for public access. While we have a few finishing touches that need to be completed, including the reinstallation of the donor tree which honors community donors, the work in this area is 99% complete.
With the reopening of the main entryway, meeting room access will no longer be routed through the west parking lot entrance. Also the main restrooms are now fully accessible. The termporary restrooms located in the back of the building will be closed to the public.
Final electrical work and lighting installation in this area will be completed during the week of November 13, after which full public access will be restored.
Until our ribbon cutting on Friday, November 17 at 5:30 p.m., the interactive play area will remain restricted. After November 17, this area will be open during all operating hours.
Some outstanding issues with carpeting be addressed during the months of November and December. This will cause temporary restrictions of access children's AV and picture books. However, these interruptions should be short-lived.
Outside the scope of the renovation project, contractors are hard at work removing the wallpaper throughout the 2nd floor children's area, touching up and applying fresh paint with accent colors. Please pardon our dust as this additional work continues throughout the month of November.
Funding for the project, which is currently estimated at approximately $250,000, includes a significant donation of 51% of the total project cost from the Wadsworth Public Library Foundation. The remaining costs will come from the Library's capital fund, reserves which serve to strengthen and preserve the physical and technological infrastructure of the Library over time.
