An Invitation to Play At Wadsworth Public Library

An Invitation to Play At Wadsworth Public Library

by Nicole Moore, Manager of Children's, Youth & Outreach Services

You are invited to join us at 5:30p.m. on November 17, 2017 for our grand opening and ribbon cutting of our new early literacy interactive play area on the second floor of the Library.

If you have visited the Library over the last few months, you’ve noticed that we have been busy improving our second floor children’s area. Our construction project is nearly complete and we are excited to invite you to come in for a tour. The new space features a “bookmobile” full of opportunities for you to discover and learn with your child. From color mixing and texture panels, to spinning stories and dancing frogs, there is something for everyone! Infused with the five pillars of early literacy: talk, sing, read, write, and play, the learning experiences are endless. You’ll also find some locally inspired surprises throughout the new area and don’t forget to look up - our Wright Brothers model airplane is proudly featured in the space. Let’s see who has more fun making the headlights shine on the bookmobile - you or your little one!

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of the Wadsworth Public Library Foundation, who will be on hand during the ceremony to walk you through the new space. The Library will remain open until 9p.m. this evening during Main Street Wadsworth’s Candlelight Walk event which begins at 6p.m.. In addition to checking out our new play space, you can attend a holiday themed story time, take a free photo with Santa Claus and more.
